“Made in Mexico”: The new driver of competitiveness in Mexican exports

In the first quarter of 2025, Mexico reaffirmed its leading role in global trade, registering a 6.2% increase in exports to the United States and a 1.3% increase to the rest of the world. During 2024, the country reached a historic record of more than $617 billion in exports, consolidating its position as the tenth largest merchandise exporter in the world and the first in Latin America. This growth has been driven, in part, by the strengthening of the “Made in Mexico” brand, which seeks to position the country as synonymous with quality, technology, and innovation.

More than just a label, “Made in Mexico” is becoming a strategic tool for differentiating national products in international markets. It boosts SMEs by integrating them into global value chains in a challenging global environment driven by economic and geopolitical uncertainty. The country brand not only generates trust but also directly influences key variables such as competitiveness, access to financing, and the attraction of foreign investment.

Demand for the seal has grown in recent weeks, especially among MSMEs, reflecting a growing awareness of the commercial value it provides. Complementing this seal with professional advice and financing would be key to enhancing its impact. Investing in “Made in Mexico” is not only an international positioning strategy but also a smart economic decision to boost the added value of our exports.
