Evolution of E-Commerce

Nowadays, it is very common for both large and small companies to be present and gain positioning in e-commerce. They can carry out customer acquisition and perform various operations and transactions more efficiently and quickly from anywhere. That is why electronic commerce is one of the sectors that has obtained great acceptance in the market in which many are betting on being part of this digital revolution. Furthermore, it has become an essential part for economic growth.

Although in previous years, this digital sector grew steadily, in 2020 it faced one of the great challenges faced by many companies. The strict measures of the Covid 19 pandemic generated a before and after of e-commerce, as well as the management of operations and connection with its public. Despite this, many companies managed to face and discover opportunities, in this way they generated greater possibilities and opportunities in the business area as well as the improvement in the customer purchase process, because they left the traditional purchase generating a greater need for a digital transformation. In addition, the growth of e-commerce is evident throughout the Latin American region, which led many of the small and medium-sized companies to internationalize.

Each of the Latin American countries managed to stand out in different categories of services and products, so the entrepreneurs were able to adopt new strategies and participate in the different trade networks. On the other hand, the sites where there is a greater presence of seller growth are through Marketplace and online platforms. According to the report by Statista (2021), he made a comparative graph on the main electronic commerce markets between 2021 and projections for 2025. In which, Brazil leads the list, which obtained 21, 400 million dollars with a growth rate 30% by 2025, reaching $ 27.8 billion. In second place, it is obtained by Mexico with 17.3 billion dollars, but with a low growth rate of 11% for 2025. Third, it is obtained by Argentina with 6.1 billion dollars by 2021 and with one of the growth rates from 59% by 2025 to $ 9.7 billion. Colombia is in fourth place with 5.6 billion dollars in 2021 with a growth of 26%. Finally, Chile obtains the fifth place with a growth of 38% and Peru in sixth place with a 40% growth rate by 2025.

In conclusion, by knowing each one of the projections that each of the countries in the region will obtain in relation to their sales, its great relevance and evolution of the sector is known. To do this, it must be considered that many companies must be in continuous improvement of their processes and be attentive to constant changes, so customer service, process optimization and generation of strategic alliances must be promoted.
